La sábana de Turín es una sábana de lino de 4,4 m de largo y
1,1 m de ancho que envuelve el cadáver de un hombre azotado y coronado de
espinas que fue apuñalado en el costado con una lanza y crucificado (Jumper
1984, Adler, 1996). Hay también muchas marcas causadas por la sangre, el fuego,
el agua y el plegamiento impresos en la tela que cancelan parcialmente la
imagen doble del cuerpo (delantera y trasera) indeleblemente impresa. Las
heridas son lo que más interesan a los patólogos forenses porque serían muy
difíciles de producir. La imagen corporal es extremadamente superficial, pero
en algunas áreas de la imagen frontal, como las de la cara y quizá las manos, es
superficial en ambos lados (Fanti 2004). Esto significa que, teniendo en cuenta
el grosor de la tela donde está la imagen de la cara, hay una imagen muy
superficial en la parte superior y una en la parte inferior, pero nada en el
medio; Las imágenes superior e inferior corresponden en forma y posición. El
sudario de Turín es considerado por muchos como el lienzo de enterramiento de
Jesucristo antes de ser colocado en una tumba en Palestina hace unos 2000 años.

The Turin Shroud is a 4.4 m long and 1.1 m wide linen
sheet that wrapped the corpse of a scourged, thorn-crowned man who was stabbed
in the side with a lance and crucified (Jumper 1984, Adler 1996). There are
