Muchas hipótesis y pruebas experimentales se han llevado
a cabo en telas de lino para explicar la formación de la imagen corporal. De
las muchas hipótesis presentadas, la más consistente con la realidad es muy
probablemente una energía luminosa del cuerpo del hombre envuelto en el
sudario: «La ciencia todavía no es capaz de explicar cómo la imagen corporal
podría ser realmente formada y ha formulado diferentes hipótesis. En cualquier
caso, la forma más probable, también si no se ha demostrado completamente con
pruebas experimentales, es pensar que la imagen corporal de la Sábana de Turín
fue producida por una fuente de energía dentro del cuerpo envuelto. »

Many hypotheses and experimental tests have been
carried out on linen fabrics to explain the formation of the body image. Of the
many hypotheses presented, the more consistent with reality is most probably a
luminous energy from the body of man enveloped in the shroud: «Science is still
not able to explain how the body image could be really formed and has
formulated different hypotheses. In any case the most likely way, also if not
yet completely demonstrated with experimental tests, is that of thinking the
body image of the Turin Shroud was produced by a source of energy inside the
enveloped body.»
